PM Writing is a complete learning, teaching and assessment package that places an emphasis on the development of the writing process in the first 3 years of primary school. PM Writing provides explicit and systematic instruction in writing, incorporating shared, guided and independent writing and independent reading.

TEXT TYPES IN PM WRITING Throughout the PM Writing components, students are gradually introduced to, and scaffolded through, 8 key text types: recount, description, information report, narrative, procedure, exposition, explanation and discussion.
